Our Story

CTMV was founded by Mestre Vitor, an excellent Capoeira master who is passionate about sharing this incredible art form with the world. Mestre Vitor’s journey with Capoeira began in Natal, Brazil, where he discovered Capoeira at the age of 14. His love for Capoeira grew, and in 1997, he opened his first Capoeira academy. For over 27 years, Mestre Vitor has been teaching and inspiring students of all ages, helping them discover the power of Capoeira.

In 2010, Mestre Vitor expanded his vision by opening a second academy, the largest one yet. This new space quickly became a hub for the Capoeira community, where students come together not just to learn Capoeira, but to connect, grow, and transform their lives.

"Capoeira is good for life" – Mestre Vitor

Hello, my name is Vitor Kleber, and I was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.  My Capoeira journey began at 14, and in 1991, I joined the Grupo Cordão de Ouro. But in 1997 I decided to start teaching Capoeira, in that year I opened my own Capoeira academy, and then I truly began to understand the deeper meaning of Capoeira. Teaching Capoeira completely changed how I saw it. It wasn't just a martial art or a dance—it was a way to connect with people and transform lives.

Mestre Vitor's Story

Driven by this passion, I started a project called Cordões do Futuro to teach Capoeira to children. Since 1997, I’ve been teaching for over 28 years, and every day, I am amazed by how Capoeira can change lives.

In 2010 I've had one of the greatest experiences of my life , I was invited to  teach capoeira in  Europe share my experiences with others spreading capoeira across the world. In 2011, I hosted my first Capoeira event, Vem Vadiar. That year was incredible for my Capoeira journey. We officially opened our second and largest Capoeira studio.

Capoeira has been a journey of growth and connection for me. From teaching kids in my local community to sharing the art with people worldwide, I have seen how Capoeira can touch hearts and change lives.

In 2023, at the age of 51, I achieved the highest rank in my school, the Cordão Branco, under the guidance of Mestre Lobão from São José dos Campos, São Paulo. This achievement represents the pinnacle of my career and lifelong dedication to spreading Capoeira as a powerful, life-changing tool.
